Texas A&M Vet Camp

September 14, 2016

Texas A&M Vet Camp is designed to enhance academic success for new student veterans and to assist in their transition to TAMU. Vet Camp helps incoming veteran students become familiar with resources available through the Veteran Resource and Support Center, the Veteran Services Office, other campus offices and departments, and the local and state community. The Brazos Valley Marine Corps League supported the event by manning a booth setup to expose the incoming veterans to the activities and services of our detachment.
Senior Vice Commandant Doug Tennis meets with incoming veteran students, exposing them to the activities and services of the BVMCL. A graduated former Yell Leader, who is also a veteran, introduces the attendees to TAMU traditions, and teaches them the basic yells.
Military Science professor, Dr. Bill Collopy, who is also a BVMCL member and one of the Faculty Mentors, gives an inspirational presentation to the attendees.
