Independence Day Parade

The Brazos Valley Marine Corps League participated in the Independence Day Parade in Chappell Hill, Texas on July 4, 2017.
Members of Marine Corps League Detachment 1391 drove to Chappell Hill, which in south Washington County, to participate in the Independence Day parade. The parade began with the firing of an 18 lb. cannon.
The first entry was Patriot Guard motorcycle group, escorting the colors. The Brazos Valley Marine Corps League entry in the parade was two pickup trucks loaded with members and member families.
BVMCL entry was greeted with cheers from the crowd. Members enjoyed waving and throwing candy to the children in the crowd.
A number of entries came from other counties in the Brazos Valley, like this one from Hempstead. The parade also included a number of entries from other veterans groups, like this one from the Submarine Veterans.
